RaceClocker News #10

raceclocker.substack.com

👋 Hello to our intermittently appearing newsletter with events, updates or other information around our race timing app you may find helpful or entertaining. #happytiming

Easy uploading of your race list

As we see the number of larger events on our platform grow rapidly, we've made importing a start list a lot easier. You can now drag/drop any CSV file on to the RaceClocker start list editor and then pick the data fields you prefer to be included in both the timing app as well as in the results.

More details of how CSV drag/drop works you can find here. And stay tuned for more improvements around start list importing and integration on our roadmap.

Yay, a shiny new server

Back in June we migrated the RaceClocker back-end to a new server. We're now on a very robust and fast environment located in the United States and can much better manage and scale up the service when demand peaks. Despite a few hiccups around migration with results availability and email sending, the new server is now running smooth and humming along.

Hello, Hallo, Ciao, Hola, Bonjour

We also started making RaceClocker available in other languages. Currently, next to English you can use the app in Dutch and German too. Would you like and help us contributing to the translation project? We're looking for timing experts and native speakers for Spanish, Italian or Portuguese that can assist us offering more localised versions.

And some more feature news...

Below just a few examples of recent new features and capabilities. We're improving and expanding RaceClocker capabilities every day and most features are based on your feedback and requests. Keep them coming...

Sport specific formatting of speed and results
Lap racing support in the keypad timer (available for testing)
Collapsable and draggable wave headers in the race list

#Happytiming

Manual race timing with a great app and platform like RaceClocker is becoming more popular rapidly. Easy to use do-it-yourself timing that provides a great user experience for both timekeepers and race participants, is attractive to many race directors. We see ongoing growth in our metrics and in the popularity of our platform. Many thanks to all for your trust and support!
